Music is very important to me. We associate music with culture, and often, with memories. Certain songs transport me back to a different time in life. For example, Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen” reminds me of my senior year spring break in Panama City Beach, Florida. Anything by Lenny Kravitz reminds me of dancing around with my brothers when we were tots. Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers album reminds me of early mornings drives into high school with my older brother.
Here are the top 10 songs I’ve been listening to for summer 2017:
#1. Waves – Kanye West
#2. LOVE. FEAT. ZACARI – Kendrick Lamar
#3. Free Smoke – Drake
#4. Money Fold – Rich Homie Quan
#5. Sweet Sweet – Travis Scott
#6. 5 Million Intro – Gucci Mane
#7. Cameras – Wiz Khalifa
#8. Self-Made – Bryson Tiller
#9. Magnolia – Playboi Carti
#10. P.O.A. – Future
A lot of people are usually surprised by my playlists. I listen to quite a bit of rap, as you can see. I also love country, pop, acoustics, alternative, rock…you name it. It’s just that most of the time I am working, working out or driving – and that’s when I like songs like these.
What are you guys listening to these days?
